Anniversary Announcement

Susan & Noel Robertson

On Sunday the 12th of May 2019, Noel & Susan Robertson with a great many family and friends, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Melton Valley Golf Club.
Noel & Susan were married on the 10th of May 1969 at the Congregational Church, Olinda Street Bendigo. The celebrant was the Reverend Robert Carnatz.
Noel was born in Bendigo in 1950 the son of Frank and Dorothy Robertson, Noel is the fourth child and third son in a family of 15 children. Susan Helena Jarvis as she was known prior to her marriage, was born in Bendigo in 1949 the third child, and only daughter of Herb & Phyllis Jarvis and is known to most people as Sue.
Noel had many jobs early in life but from 1971 until retirement in 2010 worked as a meat inspector employed by the Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries & Forestry.
Susan began working in Retail in 1965 at Monaghan's Wool and Lingerie Store located in Mitchell Street, Bendigo. She had several other occupations between having children. She went on to work for Myers first in Bendigo and then in Ballarat, from the early 1980's until the end of 1994. In February 1995 she became the owner and operator of Bargain Box Fabrics Melton, and continues until this day. The store is located in Staughton Street, Melton South.
Noel & Susan have four children (Corey, Helena, Rachel and Struan), thirteen grandchildren (James, Jacob, Amy, Monique, Jordan, Charlie, Brody, Isobel, Lisa, Amelie, Tai, Ella and Jasmyn) and two great grandchildren (Arlo and Eden).
Also, after the demise of Cathy Sankey in 2006, Noel & Susan have been foster parents to Ashleigh, Amy and Harley (also Nana & Pop to Malakai). And were also foster parents to Andrew Jaffery for a few months in 2006.
